What is urea in skincare?
Urea is already part of your skin. It's one of the components of the skin's natural moisturising factor (NMF), the group of water-attracting substances that help the outer layer of skin stay hydrated. The urea used in skincare is made in a lab, so it's consistent and suitable for cosmetics.
Urea benefits for dry body skin
- Hydrates: urea is a humectant, helping skin attract and hold water.
- Smooths rough texture: it helps soften rough, dry areas so skin feels smoother.
- Works well with rich lipids: humectants draw water in; lipids help keep it there. That's why we pair urea with tallow and shea butter.
Why urea and tallow work together
Grass-fed tallow provides lipids similar to the ones your skin makes itself, which become harder to replace as skin makes fewer of its own with age. Urea and glycerin help draw moisture in, while tallow, shea butter and jojoba oil soften and condition. Add niacinamide to help improve the look of dry, uneven skin, and panthenol and allantoin for comfort.
How to use a urea body cream
- Shower in warm, not hot, water.
- Pat skin lightly so it's still slightly damp.
- Smooth the Body Cream over arms, legs and anywhere that feels dry, paying attention to elbows, knees and heels.

Urea occurs naturally in skin as part of its natural moisturising factor. Cosmetic urea is lab-made for purity and consistency.
Can I use the Body Cream on my face?
The Body Cream is made for body skin. For your face, use Whipped Tallow Cream.
Does the Body Cream contain fragrance?
Yes, it contains added fragrance. Check the full ingredient list on the product page and pack.
As with any skincare, patch test before full use: apply a small amount to the inner arm twice daily for 7–10 days. Stop use if you notice persistent irritation, and seek medical advice if it continues.
